Client: One Of The World's Largest Independent Oil And Gas Exploration And Production Companies
- Business Problem: Our client needed an integration process and procedure to interface financial exposures from all marketing systems on as real-time a basis as possible to their corporate credit system. This would enable the credit department to more accurately track risk exposure by counterparty across all marketing systems – critically important in post-Enron trading
- What Provante did:
- Analyzed the current marketing systems and the credit system interface points and procedures
- Managed the project team composed of Provante and client resources
- Provante built, documented, tested, and moved into production–
- The global credit cross-reference sub-system
- Interfaces from the US and Canadian natural gas and crude marketing deal entry systems
- Interfaces from the client’s risk management system for mark-to-market exposure
- Client’s Results:
- Our client is now able to view total exposure across counterparty from one credit system for quick response to deal credit validation requests
- The credit department was able to maintain its staffing numbers while decreasing credit response time as well as quickly respond to management requests for counterparty exposure
